You don't need to call and cancel your insurance when you sell. It ends automatically from the ownership-change date once that change is registered, and any prepaid premium is refunded. What you do need to check is that the ownership change was actually reported.
The Swedish Transport Agency notifies your insurer once the vehicle changes owner, and the policy ends as of the ownership-change date. If you've prepaid for a full year or quarter, the unused days are calculated and refunded. You can't cancel the insurance in advance either, since the sale has to be registered first.
The one real risk for you as a seller
If you use the paper form and the buyer never mails it in, you remain the registered owner. Responsibility for the insurance then stays with you, and the fee from TFF comes to you, not the buyer.
So complete the ownership change together in the Swedish Transport Agency's app before you hand over the keys. You'll see immediately on screen that the vehicle is no longer in your name. Can't do that? Mail the form yourself on the way home and check the app a few days later.
